Is it worth getting a M1 Mac Mini in 2024 : r/macmini - Reddit
I saw a Base model M1 Mac mini on clearance for 389 USD. Considering that is an older model and possibly getting a M3 Mac mini this year. Is it worth getting it? I don’t need to do anything crazy, just basic home computer tasks, email, YouTube, word, power point, browsing internet.

2021年9月15日 · I've read the M1 Mini draws about 20w even at load, so to me, it's a no-brainer from a power efficiency POV, and at just 450eur (refurbished 256GB/8GB M1 Mini), it seems like a nice replacement. The question is if Plex and file serving work well on MacOS, and how well it works left on all day long.

2024年10月30日 · used a $175 Beelink mini pc for my plex server, s12 pro I think. Worked perfect and even worked for browsing the internet pretty snappy. I even installed a 4TB HDD inside. Took 5 mins. Now I use a seedbox from Ultra which i prefer. Mac mini is over kill for just a server but if you got money to blow go ahead.

This is with multiple different cables and over both USB-C -> DP and HDMI. I used to have similar issues with a Mac Pro trashcan, too.
