Muckross House, Gardens and Traditional Farms is Kerry’s premier visitor attraction. Set in the heart of Killarney National Park, Muckross is known throughout the world for its scenic beauty and cultural attractions, including the magnificent house itself, craft workshops, Garden Restaurant and 1920’s style working farm.

The house stands close to the shores of Muckross Lake, one of Killarney’s three lakes, famed worldwide for their splendour and beauty. As a focal point within Killarney National Park, Muckross House is the ideal base from which to explore this landscape.

Located approximately 6km (3.6 miles) from Killarney town centre, Muckross House and Gardens represent the focal point and nucleus of Killarney National Park. This is Ireland’s oldest National Park and it includes the world famous Lakes of Killarney, as well as the mountains and woodlands that surround them.

Muckross Craft Centre is famous for its traditional handmade crafts of Pottery, Bookbinding and Weaving, all produced here in Killarney.

Visitors to Muckross House can still see spinning and weaving carried out the traditional way, in our craft workshop. From small beginnings, Mucros Weavers have grown to supply over one hundred shops world-wide, in countries such as the USA, Canada, France, Germany and Japan.
