The Museum of Witchcraft was the creation of Cecil Williamson, whose interest in witchcraft and magic began in childhood. Cecil initially founded a Museum of Witchcraft in Stratford-upon-Avon but after local opposition, moved to the Isle of Man and in 1951 opened The Folklore Centre of Superstition and Witchcraft.

The Museum of Witchcraft is a unique collection of over two thousand artefacts representing every British magical tradition from medieval angelic magic to modern Wicca.

Besides the Museum Library and Collection records, which are freely searchable online, The Museum of Witchcraft & Magic has a large archive containing original material and MSS on a variety of topics. Prior registration to use the archive is required.
