2020年4月30日 · OTF knives make a fine EDC for most people. I've been happy with my Ultratech. The blades are incapable of folding on your fingers and they are very slim in the pocket. They offer truly one handed opening and closing. My only issue with them is that the blades are often narrow, which can sometimes lead to less than stellar geometry.

They were placed right next to the Microtechs, so I assumed they were outrageously priced and never gave them consideration.

And if you remove the wrong set of screws and remove the wrong parts you are gonna have a hell of a time getting it back together. Benchmades other OTF knives are based on the old school mikov internals that microtech adopted in 2000.

2008年2月23日 · OTF knives tend to be made of very thick stock. Microtechs are a good example of this. Big thick blades with edges on both sides (usually). Generally sharpened to a super duper sharp *point*. Edges are a different story. They are generally kinda sharp, but due to the thick stock, the edge angles are unbelievable: Sometimes 30 degrees per side.

2019年2月27日 · Benchmade makes a Precipice OTF auto as well as the mini-infidel that also meets your criteria, but they've got some PR problems at the moment. Boker introduced an OTF recently. The list goes on. My personal favorite OTF with a 3.XX" blade is the UTX-85 from Microtech, and it's actually somewhat affordable at $235.

2015年11月8日 · Riverside county, riverside city to be exact. Are otf knives illegal? Such as the schrade viper? I know some call them assisted others say automatic so figured I'd ask. Are they legal or illegal? Yes yes I know don't get caught don't gotta worry and could probably use an illegal switchblade and be fine but I'd rather have it be legal.

2013年3月9日 · Carl is harsh, but your title “OTF knives for women” assumes there’s a gender difference in ability when there’s not. It’s a matter of strength and size not gender. Women can have very strong hands…just not your woman. In the auto subforum plenty of guys complain about having problems opening OTF knives.

2005年11月9日 · I noted recently that one vendor lists assisted opening OTF knives from a couple of makers. I was going to reread the local state law to see if it looks like one of those would be legal here. The makers the dealer lists are S&W and Schrade. I suspect these are Chinese or Taiwanese made as the prices listed by the dealer are in the $30 to $40 range.
