Reid State Park at the south end of Georgetown Island in Georgetown is home to two long and wide stretches of sandy beach fronting the Atlantic Ocean.

We went to Reid State Park on a misty afternoon in July. While we were one of the only ones there, we were able to see the beauty of the park unencumbered by other cars or people. There are two roads/beaches you can chose from.

Reid State Park has a little of everything. They offer 3 miles of hiking trails, ledges to climb and explore, 2 very beautiful beachs with surf, a lagoon area, which is great for the kiddos and a wonderful park manager, Samantha Wilkinson!

From the top of Griffith Head, a rocky headland overlooking the park, visitors can enjoy sweeping seascapes and spot lighthouses on Seguin Island, The Cuckolds, and Hendricks Head. Visitors can also see several islands including Damariscove, Outer Head, and Southport.
