Arrow above text (like widehat) - TeX - LaTeX Stack Exchange
Aug 16, 2015 · However, $\xrightarrow{dim}$ puts the arrow in the centre (as one would have for a map) which makes the dim small and doesn't look good. So is there an arrow which works like a $\widehat{dim}$ but with an arrow instead of a hat? P.S. The text I'm using just uses an underline but I feel it isn't noticeable enough.

symbols - Arrow in text mode - TeX - LaTeX Stack Exchange
To me this is the simplest and most flexible solution, and renders nicely too (sure, it does not look like the right arrow in math mode but for many purposes it might be enough). You can control spacing very easily inside the verbatim. For instance, more spacing would be A \verb| -> | B. Both are shown below.

What does the right arrow mean in the example provided.
I'm doing Project Euler Question 14 and would like to know what the right arrow → means in: n → n/2 (n is even) n → 3n + 1 (n is odd) I gather from the phrasing of the question that it has to do with set theory. Any links to primers on set theory that would help me to understand the question greatly appreciated. Thanks.

\\Rightarrow vs. \\implies, and "does not imply" symbol
The second line uses \Longrightarrow and is better, but there's not enough space to set the arrow apart from the surrounding symbols (the two inequalities are spaced as much as the arrow). Finally, in the third line (which uses \implies), the additional space highlights the arrow from the rest and so improves the readability of the formula.
