2022年4月22日 · A trick I’ve used when I don’t have a spring hook available is a good length of #5 starter rope to hook into the spring end. Most times it’s easier than a hook, due to obstructions in the way. I’m able to put more pull on the rope and tie it off somewhere when no assistant is available. Just another odd tool doing an odd job in my tool box.

2016年5月20日 · However, when attempting to reattach the deck to the mower, I am having difficulty re-attaching the PTO cable tension spring to the Idler arm. I had difficulty getting it off during removal of the deck but have been unable to re-hook it after 2 hours of trying. There does not seem to be enough clearance between the bracket and the deck.

2022年8月31日 · Second with an electric PTO setup normally the idler spring must be removed to install the correct belt. The spring is reinstalled once the belt is in place. To do this you need a spring hook tool. But this deck was originally a manual PTO setup. All they did was to install a fixed engagement cable and spring.

2021年7月27日 · Also to get to the spring mounting point on the deck you must remove the right hand spindle cover. Both covers should be already off but just in case had to mention it. To reattach the spring while the belt is on requires a heavy spring hook tool. Other methods works just not as well and some are quite dangerous.
