To be more specific, the Starlink speed test reports the speeds between you and the Starlink gateway only. This is the true speed of your connection and only reports on the Starlink equipment speeds. Ookla measures the speeds between your device (laptop, console, etc.) and some other server out there in the Internet.

One person on YouTube did that and was told the router slows is the max speed, device speed is an average of expected current speeds. You could reach out to their support to confirm if that is the case though.

I test on ookla on my phone and same results as Fast.com. Now I switch to my pc at the same exact times and it will not get more than 40mbps download but will get the same upload? .. Honestly, if these speeds are just part of the 'alpha' test, a lot of rural internet providers are doomed and will go bankrupt fairly quickly. If Starlink rolls out a 100 / 10 service, there is a potential for 50 million customers in North America alone.

The Green Speedtest is between the Router and your Phone, not the internet. It tests the PHY-Rate or link speed. The blue is between your router and the Internet. And that the speed fluctuates is Normal for starlink and even cellular internet connections as well.

2023年8月26日 · Especially since in many places it might be 10-15 Euros a month... for 5x the speed of Starlink. Someone I know in UK spends 10 pounds a month for 1000/1000 symmetrical fibre. Starlink for 75 pounds a month for 100-200 down isn't gonna compete.
