2021年10月9日 · I have 2 systems using a valve pre in front of SS power amps. Supertek DHT Cabernet pre with Accuphase A70 power amp driving Harbeth 40.2 speakers. AR LS16 pre with Bryston 4bsst driving Dynaudio C2 Platniums. I like the color that a valve pre amps brings to the system whilst using a relatively powerful and neutral power amp to handle the speakers.

Inspect, tighten and clean the contacts in the tube sockets - If you have digital electronics adjacent, such as a router, WiFi modem, satellite, etc, that could be causing the static out of just one channel. Make sure anything of that sort is at least 3-5ft away from tube electronics.

Someone commented that the crossover will handle gain matching between the two amplifiers, which was a major concern.

A lower wattage tube power amp, for the mids and tweets, and class ds, AB (crown) (something quiet but powerful) power amp for the bass sections. They can be bi amped? if not easy to fix that too..

2019年11月30日 · All SET amps are class A by nature. In a class A amplifier, the output devices are biased on for the entire waveform. This is why they are lower power output when compared to similarly sized class A/B amps. Some of the best amps we've heard are class A, but it's really about the overall design and build.

2008年12月30日 · I agree with Newbee in that a tube power amplifier is the way to go. Solid state preamplifiers are fine in this combination, and can sometimes, even be preferable to a tube preamplifier. If I'm putting tubes anywhere, it's the power amplifier.
