2024年1月7日 · I replaced my ISP router + U6-LR with two Unifi Express from the EU store at the end of 2023 as I wasn't satisfied with the range of the LR, and wanted to have a local Unifi OS instead of a Raspberry PI docker-hosted controller. It's been rock solid, with stable WiFi connectivity everywhere in the flat.

2021年8月17日 · Ubiquiti has a cult following because when they first started offering AirMax and Edgerouter devices, nothing like them existed. Then the UniFi APs showed up and again, nothing like that really existed at those prices before. The unifi switches arent really anything special, but it's nice to have everything centralized.

My initial intent for guest networks was to restrict clients from communicating with each other, as Ubiquiti is supposed to make guest networks harder to see other devices and networks.

Most of my devices, for example, are older and have 10/100 NICs. Until this year, the router I had (4 port Netgear) had to be connected to a switch for the rest of my electronics, which was an old 10/100 that I had around. 2022年4月21日 · Just wanted to mention that the Unifi APs are quite powerful compared to most consumer stuff, so you will probably be OK. As an anecdote, I put my U6-LR IN MY ATTIC (like, amongst the rafters, above my ceiling drywall boards) and still get a stronger signal than from my previous Google Wifi puck which was in the room about 6' away from the devices.
