Vertical Dipole - 10 Through 20 meters - One Half Wave or …
The vertical dipole or its electromagnetic equivalent, the monopole, could be considered one of the best antennas for land mobile radio applications. It is omni directional (in azimuth) and, if it is a half-wavelength long, has a gain of 1.64 (or G=2.15 dBi) in the horizontal plane (2).

Discussion about the Standard Vertical, Center-fed dipole. Effect of elevation and fundamental characteristics of gain, SWR 50, impedance, nulls.
W5ALT Vertical Dipoles - hamuniverse.com
A vertical dipole antenna is simply a dipole antenna that is mounted vertically instead of horizontally. Because of the orientation, it will have some characteristics different than a horizontally mounted dipole.
HF Vertical Antenna, No Radials, Stealth 160-6M VDA vertical dipole

Vertical Dipole Antenna - IW5EDI Simone - Ham-Radio
Two Hustler Model 6-BTV antennas were adapted to make up a half wave vertical dipole by mounting them butt- to-butt on a twelve-foot long 2 by 12 inch wooden mast attached to the deck railing at the rear of the house.
My Experiment in Building a Vertical Dipole Antenna
Since 10 meters and cb (sometimes refered as 11meter) are so close in bandwidth often a cb antenna can be tuned for 10 meter. So I checked out vertical dipoles for cb and just couldn't bring myself to pay that much for a manufactured one. So what to do? Simple answer!
Dipole antenna - Wikipedia
Dipole antennas (or such designs derived from them, including the monopole) are used to feed more elaborate directional antennas such as a horn antenna, parabolic reflector, or corner reflector. Engineers analyze vertical (or other monopole) antennas on the basis of dipole antennas of which they are one half.
2 Meter Vertical Dipole Antenna by Jim Feldman - W6JMF - hamuniverse.com
I was looking to build an easy to breakdown 2 meter antenna for an event I was helping with. I have issues with J-poles, and while easy to build, I think they interact with their feedlines way to much. 1/4 wave ground planes work well, but will have half the signal of a dipole.
Dipole vs Vertical: Which Antenna is Better? - onallbands.com
2020年9月24日 · The basic quarter-wave vertical antenna is essentially half of a dipole with the other half of the antenna composed of radial s, either at or above ground. One of the primary advantages of HF vertical antennas is that they are omnidirectional, meaning they transmit and receive in all directions.
Height of Vertical Antennas This test was part of a large study of the effect of mounting height of vertical antennas, which shows why the antenna works better when it's higher. Slides for a presentation of that work can be downloaded at k9yc.com/VerticalHeight.pdf
