The free upgrade to Windows 11 is available based on hardware eligibility, reliability metrics, the age of your Surface, and other factors. If you have a Windows 10 PC that's eligible for the upgrade to Windows 11, Windows Update will let you know when it's available.

We will begin with eligible devices running Windows 11, version 22H2 and 23H2 for those who have opted in to be amongst the first to experience new enhancements. All Surface devices that are compatible with Windows 11 will eventually receive the 2024 Update.
