It's also worth noting that OSHA has a formula for "real world use" that indicates an actual protection level of less than half (subtract 7 and divide by 2) so 38 becomes more like 15-16.

However, when in a SD scenario, I doubt there will be time to throw in your ear plugs. Firing a gun without ear protection could disorient and stun you so follow up shots wouldn't be possible.

2006年1月27日 · When it comes to ear protection just make sure the product has a Noise Reduction Rating (NRR) of 30 or close to it. Personally, I use custom molded plugs, I like them best. You can get disposable foam plugs with a NRR over 30. You can even double-up with those disposable plugs and muffs. That's what my wife does.
