2009年12月12日 · Remington has 2 loads for the 17 Rem. and only 1 load for the 17 Rem. Fireball. Remington doesn't even chamber a rifle for the 17 Rem. but they chamber 8 rifles in the 17 Rem. Fireball. Looking at the ballistics, the 17 Rem. looks better then the 17 Rem. Fireball.

2011年2月23日 · Re: .17 Remington Fireball I have 3 Remingtons in 17 Fireball. A 700 VSF, a Model Seven Predator, and a 700 SPS. The SPS I sent to Short Action Customs and he put it in a McMillan stock, trued the action and installed a Lilja 23" fluted barrel for me. All guns would shoot the 20gr Remington loads under 3/4" at 100 yards.

2008年4月19日 · In a word, the 17 Remington Fireball "mimics" the 17 Mach IV is how I would label it. Big Green gloats that their new offering improves on the 17 Mach IV, but then don't say why. I guess they think offering factory ammo (one load only so far I think) being shot in a SAMMI chamber is an improvement.

2008年7月27日 · The 17 Remington is a different story, it carries some energy past 200 yards with the 30gr BT's and is extremely consistant. FB = P.D.'s 17 Remington = Coyotes and Wolves I would say. The FB would be a great Fox gun, and Yes, the 17 Remington is the king of the Coyote rifles no matter what the 204 ruger guys say. Larry

2016年1月26日 · I'm playing with the thought of building a .17 fireball rifle. I just can't seem to find what I'm looking for. Either I'm going to have a .17 fireball upper built for my ar-15, or build a magazine feed .17 fireball bolt rifle with a left hand bolt. I've searched everywhere for a left-hand remington 700 .17 remington fireball rifle with no luck.

2007年7月3日 · You probably need to anneal the case neck & shoulder therefore softening the brass. Usually the neck will split after 4-5 reloads for me. There is really little difference in the cases 17/221 or 17 Fireball. I have used factory 17 fireball ammo in my L461 SAKO and in my Thompson rifle both chambered for 17/221.

2010年1月17日 · I finally got out today to shoot my 17 fireball. The barrel is a 14" SS MGM factory taper. I just picked a load out of the book for 25gr.horn. bullets for breaking in the barrel. After sighting it in and moving the target out to 100yds., It was grouping 3 under an inch, with about as much recoil as a 22 revolver, and the report wasn't bad at all.

2023年2月24日 · Can't find any brass. Do extensive research find out 17 Fireball and 17 MACH IV are almost identical. Several articles suggested that the 17 Fireball brass could easily be changed by running through a full length MACH IV sizing die. Might have to trim just a little. The 17 MACH IV is a wildcat and Remington made the 17 Fireball a factory load.

2012年2月15日 · #17 I would agree with either a .221 with 40 gr. bullet or go in between with the .20 VT. It gives a much flatter trajectory that the .221 yet can use 32 to 40 gr. bullets for a little more pop on a coyote. 20-25 gr. bullets from a .17 may be fast - but seem light for a big coyote at any significant distance.
