2012年5月13日 · You can dilute the betadine so the bath is tea colored. If it's really minor scale rot, it should go away with the next shed. Neosporin is a no no. Neosporin or any oil based products will soften the scales and potentially make the scalerot/burn worse. If you think the burn/scale rot is bad, then don't hesitate to take your snake to the vet.

2009年2月19日 · I had issues using the regular neosporin on one of my snakes. After taking the animal to the vet, I was told that the petroleum base in neosporin can cause adverse issues with the scales and shedding. I use water-based silvadene which works better and doesn't cause the scale damage the petroleum based ointments can potentially inflict.

2016年9月27日 · Betadine does work indeed. Polysporin works just as well, if you can get it. I once treated a Rescue King Snake, that had been left in over a weekend with a large mouse. The snake had bites all over it with ine being an open wound, I washed the snake in some warm, almost cold water, and treated the wounds with Betadine straight out of the tube.

2011年3月13日 · Looks like burn to me, the only scale rot I've seen was slightly orange. Luckily, it looks like your ball python is close to shed, it'll help but it won't cure it. I've heard for burns neosporin helps, but a certain kind shouldn't be used. I don't have much experience with burns or scale rot. DEFINITELY go to a vet! It looks bad, and good luck.
