Dec 2, 2024 · I have a stock Dana 27 front end and drive shaft (to my knowledge that is). I was starting to replace the U joints, and when I got some of the grease-mud off, I found someone had soldered a thin metal tab to each of the bearing caps (see the picture). This was done on both ends of the drive shaft but one had been torn off at some point.

Jun 4, 2021 · There are areas where you should not use dielectric grease, RTV sealant or anti-seize paste. One worth mentioning is certain oxygen sensors (O2 devices). Some O2 sensors draw ambient air where the wires enter the sensor housing. Sometimes There is a port like the vent opening shown in the illustration below.

We've had to put the Jeep back in service for the time being, so in the meantime we're going to have to live without the power locks a bit longer.

Jun 8, 2013 · I would also disconnect the plugs at the PCM carefully, inspect the contacts and clean them only as needed, using electrical contact cleaner. Use automotive dielectric grease for a moisture and corrosion barrier when reconnecting these plugs. Take your time with old connector clips and fragile lock release connections.
