I have a Altima 22 & I too lost 1 key fob out of the 2 I got with the vehicle. So the dealership quoted me $300.00 for new fob with programming. I got the same job done at a local locksmith with original fob + manual key copy(not original) + programming for $105.00. So do check your local locksmith before spending extra money at the dealership.

Ace hardware programmed mine, but it did take me a while to find a store where “the key kid knows how to do that.” 75 for key and 50 for programming. Worst case a locksmith can do it for a little more than ace.

The fob programming won't affect the door lock. When they retumble the lock, the new lock cylinder will match the old one. So your old keys will work in the new cylinder. If they sold you a "key cylinder with key" Did you try the key before you installed it? The key should fit in the hole and allow you to turn it.

2023年8月15日 · The Countryman is an R60 model designation. The only reason you would need to program your key is for the Comfort Access features. Otherwise, it comes programmed to the car already and will start your car. Granted, it comes programmed if you bought the key from a MINI dealer. A cheap Amazon or eBay key will not work.

2021年2月19日 · Your key may still have a chip, which you need to transfer over to the new fob. I have a 2006 Scion, which has a little chip glued inside the key fob with the buttons to unlock/lock. When that key finally broke, I carefully cut apart the plastic and shoved the guts containing to chip into the new fob I got on Amazon for $20.
