2012年12月5日 · What is Klean-heat made of? I looked on the jug and it did not say and I looked on-line and I could not find an answer. I am asking because the warning on Klean-Heat warns you not to use it near a furnace because the build up of fumes from Klean-Heat can ingnite. I have a furnace in my kitchen. I thought Klean-heat was a form of parafin. Thanks.

2008年1月25日 · I use the Klean Heat stuff - available in gallons from Home Depot in season. It isn't cheap - around $10-12 /gallon last I bought, but there's absolutely no smell, and it burns very well in both flat wick, round wick and Aladdin lamps - as well as in kero heaters.

I prefer the heat cable because I can cut the desired length and install what I need,I also feel it is a superior product to the tape available at the box stores. I have insulated rim joist and block walls in crawl space,as well as joists in crawl space. Spent lots of time under this house,oh well.

If it is not insulated well to save on your electric you may want to get the heat tape to wrap the pipes with. It has a built in thermostat that will shut off when temps get above freezing.

The consistancy of the heat, at our house, depends more on the consistency of the fire rather than the setting of the thermostat. DH fires up in the morning but it can take awhile for the floor (and house) to warm up. (About an hour.)
