Otto Funk (October 6, 1868 – February 6, 1934) was a German-American violinist who gained fame (including an entry in the Guinness Book of Records in 1977) for playing the fiddle while walking every step of the way from New York to San Francisco in 1928–29. He was 60 years old at the time of his marathon walk.

May 31, 2024 · Funk was wounded near Cheux on June 26 1944 but managed to retreat to Germany continued to fight till the bitter end in Rhineland region. On May 8 1945, the survivors of 12.SS-Panzer-Division Hitlerjugend surrendered to the U.S. 65th Infantry Division, 7th Army, near Enns in Austria.
