As homelessness increases in Reno and throughout the nation, the City of Reno continues to work on solutions in addressing this public welfare emergency in our community. This page provides an overview of City of Reno and regional initiatives addressing this complicated matter.

Washoe County Housing and Homeless Services Division leads the community in building a system that is capable of housing people so that homelessness becomes rare, brief, and non-recurring. Click here to view the Washoe County Regional Homelessness Strategic Plan.

The Nevada Cares Campus was opened in the Spring of 2021 in Reno, Nevada. The Campus provides shelter to our region's most vulnerable residents. The campus includes: the Resource Center, Emergency Shelter, Safe Camp, and space for inclement weather needs.

2024年5月8日 · Washoe County on Tuesday released data showing homelessness continues to increase in the greater Reno area. The annual point-in-time count (PIT) shows “a slight increase in the single-day count,” according to county officials.

Our Place is a low-barrier emergency shelter, specifically designed to provide women and families dealing with homelessness, a warm, safe, and home-like environment to stay in. RISE and Washoe County Human Services Agency offer guests at Our Place, wrap-around services, while they face daunting transitions to aid in ending their homelessness.

Eddy House is the central intake and assessment facility in Northern Nevada. The objective of the Eddy House is to end youth homelessness in Reno, Nevada. To accomplish this, we identify homeless, at-risk, and aged-out foster youth through extensive outreach in Downtown Reno.
