The SF 902 is used to identify and protect electronic media and other media that contain CUI such as hard drives or CD-ROMs. It is used instead of the SF 901 for media other tha n documents.

It is mandatory to include a banner marking at the top of each page denoting Controlled Unclassified Information. It is optional, but a best practice to include the banner marking on the bottom in addition to the top. The content of the CUI banner marking must be inclusive of all CUI within the document and must be the same on each page.

Can be applied to Laptop Computers, Desktop Computer Monitors, External Hard Drives, CDs, filing cabinets, printers, and basically any storage media, or drawings, film, photos, etc. that contain or show CUI.
