2009年4月6日 · Yes; Microsoft themselves recommend using <> over != specifically for ANSI compliance, e.g. in Microsoft Press training kit for 70-461 exam, "Querying Microsoft SQL Server", they say "As an example of when to choose the standard form, T-SQL supports two “not equal to” operators: <> and !=. The former is standard and the latter is not.

2013年3月26日 · MS SQL is simply a short version of the (complete) product name Microsoft SQL Server. (Similar to "MS Office", "MS Windows" or "MS Access"). T-SQL is the SQL dialect that the product Microsoft SQL Server is using - and is short for "Transact-SQL" (thanks Aaron for reminding me!) I wouldn't call the dialect that Microsoft Access is using SQL.

T-SQL and PL/SQL are two completely different programming languages with different syntax, type system, variable declarations, built-in functions and procedures, and programming capabilities. The only thing they have in common is direct embedding of SQL statements, and storage and execution inside a database.

2011年9月22日 · Having run both queries on a SQL Server 2012 instance, I can confirm the first query was fastest in my case. The query with the LIKE keyword showed a clustered index scan. The CONTAINS also had a clustered index scan with additional operators for the full text match and a merge join.

2009年1月2日 · The APPLY operators are very beneficial as they give better performance than doing the same computation in a subquery. They are also a replacement of many analytical functions in older versions of SQL Server. So after being comfortable with JOINS a SQL developer should learn the APPLY operators.

CROSS APPLY has its obvious usage in allowing a set to depend on another (unlike the JOIN operator), but that doesn't comes without a cost: it behaves like a function that operates over each member of the left set, so, in SQL Server terms it always perform a Loop Join, which almost never is the best way to join sets.
