2016年6月18日 · On the terminology first, "water sandpaper" is not the commonly used name for this type of paper. It's generally referred to as wet-and-dry, wet-n-dry or wet-or-dry paper (with or without the hyphens) as well as wet/dry paper. And note that 'sandpaper' is especially a misnomer here since this type of paper isn't, and has never been, made from sand.

2015年7月23日 · Dry paper is just that, paper and it takes about 5 seconds to turn it into gritty sticky mush, when wet with water or solvents.. the higher grit ratings are for finer and finer surface sanding with water. I have 24 grit Wet paper and trimkuts for the 4 1/2 inch angle grinder. the grit does not matter with the Wet Dry or Dry types.

I had this problem, unsuccessfully tried all the usual solutions, and just switched to coarse paper on an orbital sander and I had no clogging issues at all. Definitely worth a try. Since the paper path on an orbital sander is essentially random it just doesn’t seem to clog.

2024年8月24日 · Despite it sounding messier I would recommend the latter. Sanding off raised grain is minimal hand sanding, probably much less sanding than you're envisaging and using fairly fine paper, e.g. 280 or 320. There won't be much dust.

2020年7月18日 · I'm working on (water-based) ink-jet ink transfers to wood by printing images on freezer paper and then rubbing the ink into the wood. I'm using aspen and poplar for this project. The issue I'm having is the wood isn't as smooth as paper so it ends up with micro gaps in the ink giving it a really grainy look.
