Puppies 1 week old! Something I typically do when whelping a litter is not put a lot of padding, blankets, ect. down in the whelping box. Two reasons are mom is still bleeding a bit and other discharge and second is to help keep mom from sitting on the puppies. Sometimes mom accidentally sits down on a puppy and having flooring with less grip makes it easier for puppies to be slid out of the way.(Just from personal experience.)
