I found this umbrella plant at Aldi today for $13.99. It had hard water spots all over it. I brought her home, gave her a bath & a much needed bigger pot. The name Umbrella Tree (or umbrella plant) alludes to the wide spread of leaflets radiating from a hub at the end of each sturdy leaf stalk. There may be eight up to even 18 leaflets. Botanists consider them to be leaflets because where the leaf stalk joins the stem there is a bud concealed beneath a stipule.
