This is Avebury, a Neolithic stone circle in Wiltshire and the house I grew up in with my two brothers, parents (who still live here) and quite a few dogs! I’ve been back for a few days as I have been working and I just had a total childhood flashback to frosty mornings looking out of this gorgeous window across to the stone circle that surrounds our home and felt such a beautiful relaxed feeling that I wanted to share this with you. Originally known as ‘The Giants Dance’, no other stone circle in Britain or the world has a design as sophisticated and complicated as Stonehenge. Like Avebury, it has an avenue, but with no stones. At the very end of this sacred pathway, a stone circle once rested on the banks of the River Avon in Amesbury.
