The Washington State Department of Natural Resources enacted a statewide burn ban that began at 1 p.m. Wednesday as hot, dry weather conditions increase wildfire dangers. The news comes as numerous wildfires are actively burning across the state. The DNR's order bans outdoor burning, campfires, the use of charcoal briquettes and prescribed burns on all forest land the DNR manages through Sept. 30.
